NFT Artist Q&A with koko ntuen—founder of ladygunn magazine

Koko Ntuen is no stranger to the digital art world—founder of LADYGUNN Magazine, an independent publication and art collective that celebrates music, people, and culture—she has been uplifting artists’ voices on the interwebs and newsstands worldwide for over a decade. Now, Koko joins the digital art community as an artist herself with a collection of NFTs called WTF Girls—which in my opinion, is all the women empowerment I need, but you can be the judge of that. Read more about her collection and her NFT journey below…

What got you into crypto/NFTs?

Crypto has always been fascinating to me. There is a very "We the people...", Matrix-like element to innovating new currency that is accessible to people who would be turned away from traditional banking systems. There are opportunities in Crypto and NFTs that are not in corporate banking and the systems in place. I love it that gives those willing to take a chance the power to create legal financial opportunities and community. It creates a new mindset to wealth and how you perceive your art's value.

Do you have a collection?

I absolutely do!! I make these girls called WTF Girls. They are like your very bitchy friend or inner voice. I've been drawing sketches of these girls for years and my friends always say they have RBF. I love them. They feel like pieces of me. Each one unlocks a special surprise.

Do you have any tips for women selling their own NFTs?

I am as new to this as anyone so I would say just do it!!! Your art has value! Your work is beautiful! I'm trying to do my research on the NFT space and join more communities. My only tip would be to dive in!!

Who's your favorite female NFT artist?

That is a hard question. Every time I browse OpenSea I find new artists that I become obsessed with. I love the various mediums. Right now I am fascinated and adore Olischibogu who used photography and I love @lethabo's paintings and interactive experiences with her work.

What would you like to see us do to do empower Women in crypto?

Support, support, support. This new horizon feels very open and welcoming. I love that we are sharing information and supporting each other. Thanks for your support and for asking me to do this interview!!
