Brands Spending Millions on NFTs

Are you someone who looks for the latest trends? Looking to stay ahead of the tech curve? Then you need to fully understand what is happening when it comes to Metaverse and NFTs. For many, the value of NFTs may be difficult to fully understand. Why are companies investing so much into animated graphics and colorful digital art? There must be a bigger play at hand.

If you pay attention to which companies are making moves, you can make smarter investments or even get jobs with companies that are progressive and growth oriented.

NFTs are heading to the moon *Bruno Mars voice*. Why? Preparing for increased adoption.

“Increased adoption means exponentially increased value and utility. If you’re the only person who owns a cell phone, it’s useless. If two people own cell phones, there’s some value. If billions of people have cell phones, you need a cell phone. That’s the impact of increased adoption. That’s the potential future of NFTs.” (Forbes)

So here we present a very short list of companies that are making headway with NFTs:

Coachella

Coachella certainly made a HUGE statement when they announced their Coachella Collectibles, which gives NFT holders access to lifetime Coachella passes, photo books, prints, and more. These passes dropped on February 4, 2022 and the Coachella Key is described as “Your key to the magic of Coachella, forever”. As of now, the minimum bid is $90,000. I hope for the sake of whoever buys this pass that it also includes lifetime supplies of festival food.

Taco Bell

The home of the Dorito taco auctioned 25 NFT GIFs on NFT marketplace Rarible and all 25 NFTs were sold within 30 minutes. So anyone who claims tacos are their true love, can put their money where your mouth is. Literally. Taco Bell is not the only food company buying in!

McDonald’s

Mickey Dee’s served up some hot and fresh ‘McNFTs’ featuring the famous McRib (which I imagine look a lot better than they taste). I would prefer a McFlurry NFT. With extra Oreos!

Adidas

Adidas is making money moves by collaborating with Bored Ape Yacht club, PUNKS comics and gmoney. The collaborative project is already sold out, but I am sure this is only the beginning for this future focused brand.

Twitter

If you are a Twitter user you may have seen the pop up notification stating that they are allowing for NFT profile pictures. Twitter now lets you post your NFT as your photo in a hex-shaped box. All you have to do is connect your public crypto wallet address and it’s done! What a way to flex.

Louis Vuitton

Luxury brand Louis Vuitton collaborated with Beeple to create a video game that includes 30 NFTs. The main character is named Vivienne, and she travels through six different worlds collecting candles. Each candle represents the years leading up to Louis Vuitton’s 200th anniversary. And I heard this game is better than Fortnite.

Campbell’s

Dinner is Served and it’s a hot bowl of Campbell’s NFTs. Campbell’s turned their iconic labels into NFTs and they look super yum! They partnered with artist Sophia Chang and the AmeriCANA animated illustration is going for 1000 ETH. A little pricier than a can of soup.

Coca Cola

In July of 2021 Coca-Cola released a series of four animated NFTs. They are inspired by friendship which is a long time theme of the brand. We have all seen the commercials of people and polar bears sharing a Coke as a warm gesture! All proceeds from sales went to Special Olympics International.
